A little background about Ben....

Ben is a thirteen year old palomino quarter horse. He has been through a lot as of last year. We rescued him from being put down, about five years ago. He was rolling in a field with high tinsel wire and got his entire leg along with his hock stuck in the wire. He had sliced his tendon completly and the owner had wanted to put him down, but the vet said no, because of how sweet and kind he was. By the time that we had gone to rescue him and trailer him over to our barn his leg was not a pretty sight. The proud flesh was still showing and it was infected. Every single time he would have to take a step down or when he was rolling out in the field he his leg would lock in place and it would take him about ten to fifteen minutes to unlock from place. It took us two years for him to heal up all of the way, with a lot of rehabilitation he made his way to recovery, and he is now running happily in the fields. Living out the rest of his life with his family and of course yes, his mares.
