Riding Betty....
Miss. Betty has come such a long way from where she was a couple years ago this very day! After a couple months of groundwork I think she is finally ready. For the past couple of days Miss. Betty has been broke to ride! She is doing so very well throughout this very long process. She is a very different and unique horse even though she might come off and shy and mean I like to think of it as misunderstood! She can be sweet at times but tends to be more protective over her food. But hey isn't that in every horse! (At our barn we call it musical hay-piles!) I like to think of every horse as being different and deserving all the love and kindness in the world even if that horse seems like they don't. Every horse has a story!
A lot of people that I have meet in the past do not give their horse enough time and just expect a if you will "Finished Product" well I hate to say but with horses that does not exist! There is so such thing as a perfect horse! Even the sweetest horse has its ups and downs throughout their life! Every horse takes countless hours of patience even if you don't see a difference within those couple of days or hours that you have worked with them, well in the future it pays off! All horses are different and require different methods of training or technique. Everybody thinks that they can work with horses the same way well each horse is a different brain extrovert. Left Brain introverts tend to learn more slowly then right brain extroverts do. Just like people if you think about it, everybody has a different style of learning when it comes to their studies in school. Everybody learns different, some more slowly or more fast than others!
Every horse that I have worked with or trained has come such a long way and has improved so much over the course of years that I have worked with both horse rider and owner. A lot of people also I find don't have the patience to put up with a difficult horse, and they really don't think about the position they put the horse in when they try to treat them like every other horse. Horses are very sensitive animals and like children they require a great deal of patience, attention and their own deserving amount of attention. I think a lot of people take for granted what they have right in front of them and do not count their blessings for what they actually have! Horses can tell what you are feeling they can tell what your emotions are before you even walk into the barn. I really think more people need to be aware of how to deal with horses through groundwork and different techniques of training!
